About me
So who is this "CrazyBeaver"? Well I'm a 21 year old male, living in Sweden. I live alone with my cat Pepper in a small town called Kramfors where I currently study towards becoming a firefighter. If everything goes as planned I'll graduate in June 2008.
I've been coding since I got my first computer at the age of eight starting out with simple things like text-based games in QBasic. I later tried some early Visual Basic (VB4 I think it was) but kinda gave up coding until I was 15 when I started out with ASP. Since then I've written quite a lot of scripts and published quite a few websites aswell. Along the road I've sniffed at quite a lot of other technologies aswell such as OpenGL (using C++ and Delphi), COM (using Delphi, mainly for writing ASP components), different types of shell integration such as new contextmenus and namespace extensions (using Delphi).
All this has been great, but it has also held me back using old techniques (ie Delphi and ASP) when I could have started using the .Net Framework long before I actually did. Since the middle of 2006 all my new projects are written using C# and .Net 2.0.
As said earlier, I've written quite a few scripts and websites in my days. Most noticably would be Imager Gallery and it's companion Imager Resizer. My first script to ever be released was my gallery script which turned out to be exactly what a lot of people was looking for. It made it simple to administer since it just read the folders straft off the harddrive and built a gallery around that. It also featured Imager Resizer, my to date most valued application, which allowed for on the fly generation of thumbnails of images. It has later had additions of such things as rotation of images and my exclusive whitespace function (still haven't seen it in another product). Other products worth mentioning would be my different ASP classes (Upload Class, Calendar Class and RSS Class) and my forum which even though it's great hasn't been released to the public yet.
So is this just a hobby? It started out as one and it still is, I did however work for one and a half year coding for a company called Teknikhuset in Umeå, Sweden. I spent my time there doing what I do best, writting websites and trying out new stuff on the web. During my time there I also got to work some on their main product called Content Studio, a very competent CMS with customers all over Sweden. I also got to know Åke Järvklo, who to date is the best accessibility consult I know of, if you understand Swedish and is interessted in the development of the web and webstandards then I recommend his blog over at xhtml.se!
Well as I said in the beginning I'm now studying towards becoming a firefighter and I'm coding as a hobby. I'm writing this while evaluating my own little CMS (CrazyBeaver Beaver Management System 1.0) which will be running this site and a few other small projects I have in mind. Hopefully this one will make a public apperance some day aswell but until then I hope you'll enjoy all my old scripts and applications. Take care!
